Erick Gelhaus Shotgun Classes – October 4-5, 2025, at Dallas Pistol Club (Please note that cutoff for registration is Friday night, September 12)
Dallas Pistol Club is proud to bring one of the country’s premier shotgun trainers for two one-day classes in October.
Erick Gelhaus of Cougar Mountain Solutions has been a trainer multiple times at DPC, including events such as the Rangemaster Tactical Conference, and the Pat Rogers Memorial Revolver Roundup. He is a retired Sheriff’s Deputy who has taught shotguns at Gunsite, Thunderstick Summit and multiple LE agencies.
He will be presenting two one-day classes. They can be taken separately but do build on each other. They will be held on the LE range and include classroom presentations in the nice air-conditioned LE building.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2025 - 9 am to 6 pm
Reactive Shotgun – “Working the defensive shotgun when the problem is coming to you.” Price is $250 plus a $6.25 ticket processing fee. There is a $10 fee for non-DPC members to cover insurance. This class is suitable for a shooter who is new to the shotgun as well as experienced shotgunners.

12ga or 20ga reliable shotgun with sights – bead, traditional, or optics;
Eye & ear protection;
A way(s) to carry extra ammunition – a receiver or buttstock mounted shell holder, belt loops, or dump pouch;
Clothing appropriate to the weather, sunscreen;
Please bring your lunch, scooby snacks, caffeine, and – of course – water. We will break, but the less time we spend on lunch, the more time we can spend on the range;

14" to 21" 12ga - 20ga reliable shotgun w/sling, viable sights – iron or optics, handheld & weapon-mounted light;
Support equipment, including extra ammunition carriers; Handgun & magazines;
Eye & ear protection;
Weather-appropriate clothing;
Note taking material;
